The behavioral economics group, Insight Austria at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS), is inviting applications for a post-doctoral researcher to design and conduct behavioral economics experiments in various societal sectors. The position is based in Vienna/Austria. The IHS research group in “Behavioral Economics” combines research in behavioral economics with issues arising from various national policies. The position is available from October 1st, 2021. Deepening networks with related research institutions in Vienna and at the international level is also
expected.
The minimum salary offer for a full-time position (with completed Ph.D.) is € 3,180.36 gross per month (14x), depending on job grading in accordance with the IHS salary scheme and relevant work experience determining the assignment to the particular salary grade.
Eligibility
- Ph.D. (or near completion) in economics or another behavioral science, with a focus on behavioral/experimental economics
- Experienced with independent research in empirical behavioral economics and management of research projects, including data collections
- Fluent in English and German
- Skilled in statistics, specifically with statistical software such as R or Stata
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral skills
- Capable and willing to prepare and conduct empirical research projects
Requirements
- Good knowledge of the institutional setting of Austrian public administration and economic policies therewith, or willingness to swiftly acquire this knowledge
- Well-versed in communicating with decision-makers in science, politics, business, and society
