The Department of Resource Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is inviting applications for Ph.D. and MS programs. The department has core strengths in Environmental & Natural Resource Economics, Industrial Organization, Behavioral/Experimental Economics, and Health Economics.
Studies will begin in Fall 2022. Admitted Ph.D. students are typically provided with full funding through paid teaching or research assistantships. These assistantships also include tuition and curriculum fee waivers, health insurance, and dental, vision and wellness benefits. Applying for the 4+1 program is a two-step process spanning junior and senior years. During their junior year, students are to submit application materials to their academic advisor and the Graduate Program Director for preliminary approval. If approved, students will begin taking MSc courses in the fall of their senior year. Students must then submit the standard application through the Graduate School by Feb 1st of their senior year in order to officially apply to the MS program.
