Description
The Ness School of Management and Economics at South Dakota State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position.
This is a full-time, twelve-month appointment. The incumbent in the position will assist the project leader in the development and implementation of projects comparing the economics of soil conservation practices with conventional farming practices, taking the initiative in designing the survey instrument to measure climate resilience benefits of soil conservation practices, farmers’ responsiveness towards carbon credit payments, and to determine factors that affect farm production and adoption decisions.
The successful candidate will be expected to work on duties including but not limited to, developing research and extension topics that are of interests to stakeholders, designing survey instruments, analyzing survey
data and field-level data, writing peer-reviewed journal articles and extension articles, developing new research proposals, and communicating research results to the scientific community via conference presentations, seminars, and extension workshops.
Eligibility
- A Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or closely related disciplines.
- Familiarity with STATA or SAS, MATLAB, and GIS software.
- A record of research productivity and excellence.
- Experience with designing survey instruments and analyzing survey data.
- Demonstrated excellence in writing, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Expertise with the economics of agricultural production and conservation practices is strongly preferred.
- Experience with interdisciplinary research projects and team settings is strongly preferred.
