Maastricht University is inviting applications for a Ph.D. candidate for the project “Neurofeedback and decision making“. In the project, neuroeconomic experiments related to the role of neurofeedback on in particular temporal discounting will be carried out. Together with psychologists, neuroscientists and economists, the selected candidate will consider both practical implications and further develop an understanding of the cognitive processes behind temporal discounting. The four-year position is funded through the Centre for Integrative Neuroscience (CIN) and will be a joint appointment at the faculties of Economics and Business, Psychology and Neuroscience, and Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, making the candidate a part of an interdisciplinary Neuroscience research community.
The salary would be € 2.434,- gross per month in the first year up to € 3.111,- gross per month in the fourth year according to the PhD-candidate salary scale. On top of this, there is an 8% holiday and an 8.3% year-end allowance.
Eligibility
- The candidate possesses a relevant (Research)master degree in Cognitive Neuroscience or similar, affiliation with applications in relevant fields (work psychology, economics and education)
- Good scientific writing skills
- Ideally familiar with the common software packages such as TurboBrainvoyager, SPM or Matlab
- Prior experience in neuroscientific research
- Programming is a plus
