Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research (IGIER) and Department of Economics, Bocconi University, Milan, Italy are inviting applications for a postdoctoral position, starting 1st September, 2022 with a salary of €45,000/year (income tax exempt). The Position will work for 2 years on the ERC project “POPULIZATION”, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, Professor Salvatore Nunnari. The project’s overarching theme is the study of populism and political polarization using the tools of behavioral political economy, a blossoming eld at the intersection of behavioral economics and political economy.
Depending on background and research interests, the selected candidate will be involved in subprojects entailing
- Large scale surveys on measures of economic preferences, social preferences, cognitive abilities and political attitudes
- Laboratory experiments at the Bocconi Laboratory for the Social Sciences
- The development of theoretical models to explore the consequences of citizens’ behavioral biases and limited cognitive resources on political outcomes
Eligibility
- The selected candidate must be holding or being in the process of obtaining a PhD in any area of the social sciences.
