Newcastle University is inviting applications for senior faculty positions in Economics. All positions are open field, including behavioural or experimental economics. There is an active group of academics working in these areas who also host a behavioural economics laboratory.

Lecturer in Economics

The Economics Group within Newcastle University Business School is inviting applications for a Lecturer-in-Economics position. Salary is in the range of £36,382.00 – £50,296.00 per annum.

Eligibility

  • A relevant PhD
  • Ability to demonstrate a capacity to publish in journals of international standing
  • A clear and viable strategy for sustained future research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications
  • Ability to teach economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels

Requirements

  • Evidence of research published in international and world-leading outlets
  • Evidence of/potential to develop and secure grant capture and/or impact
  • A track record of engaging with external stakeholders, generating real-world impact from research
  • Evidence of the potential to contribute to the Economics Research Community
  • Evidence of the ability to deliver research-led teaching, making effective use of technology to enhance learning
  • Evidence of effective use of discplinary and proactive research and a developing international research profile
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational, time management and presentation skills
  • Demonstration of successful team working and operating as an effective colleague
  • Experience or potential for undertaking a management and leadership role
  • Commitment to academic citizenship in our School

Reader in Economics
