The Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at Colorado State University seeks a Livestock Economist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. With an appointment split of 40% research, 40% teaching, and 20% outreach/service, the successful candidate will be expected to develop a nationally recognized research and outreach program with an emphasis on livestock agriculture. Salary range is within $90,000-$115,000 plus benefits.
Eligibility
- Doctorate degree in an appropriate field Evidence of research/production in agricultural economics
- Specialization in developing research, outreach and teaching sustainable livestock system related programme
- Exceptional quantitative skills and demonstrate industry knowledge regarding emerging trends, issues, and practices in the livestock industry, and efforts towards sustainability
- Should pursue scholarly publications in peer reviewed journals appropriate to their research area
Requirements
- Experience with, or interest in, quantitative economic analysis of emerging trends, issues, and practices in the livestock production and marketing system
- Evidence of, or interest in, engagement with stakeholders and a diverse clientele in Colorado and the Western U.S. region
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in the U.S. livestock sector
- Experience with, or interest in range management issues related to livestock
- Evidence of, or interest in, developing an agricultural business teaching program
- Experience with, or interest in, working on multidisciplinary projects
- Evidence of, or interest in, pursuing grant funding
- Demonstrated interest in the department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion through research, teaching, and outreach with relevant programs, goals, and activities.
