The School of Marine and Environmental Affairs (SMEA) at the University of Washington is inviting applications for a postdoctoral scholar to contribute to a research project investigating the economics of salmon habitat restoration in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The selected candidate will work with and be supervised by Dr. Sunny Jardine, Associate Professor at the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs.

The position is for a period of 12 months (100% FTE). The salary range is $62,400 – $69,600 per year depending on experience. The position is based out of the University of Washington, but remote work is a possibility.

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Contribute to programs that identify cost-effective salmon restoration plans and outcomes from alternative restoration plans.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Communicate with managers and policy makers.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in a quantitative field
  • Experience working with large geospatial datasets in R
  • Experience with R Shiny is a plus
  • Experience with GitHub is a plus
