The Department of Economics, University of Bologna is inviting applications for two Postdoctoral researchers for up to 5 years (subject to yearly renewal), to work on “GREEN TIPPING”, a project financed by the European Research Council (ERC Consolidator grant, starting in September, 2023). The project’s principal investigator is Alessandro Tavoni.
The researchers will mostly work on the following: i) information-provision survey experiments and ii) laboratory experiments
Roles/Responsibilities
- Statistical and econometric analysis of experimental data, with possible machine learning applications to identify agents’ types Development and coding of online surveys and lab experiments
- Theoretical modelling of social tipping points, using threshold models and/or game theory
Eligibility
- PhD in either economics, statistics, decision theory, or related fields;
- Experience in coding and conducting economic experiments online and in the lab (using z-tree-O-tree, Qualtrics);
- Solid econometrics, analytical and quantitative skills
- Familiarity with Stata, R, Python and machine learning techniques
- Fluency in English (Italian not needed), good presentation and writing skills;
Requirements
- Willingness to travel to project meetings and to conferences;
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and diverse environment committed to high-quality research.
- Desirable: Previous experience with climate change research;
- Desirable: Game-theoretic modelling experience
