The Department of Forestry and Environmental Conservation, Clemson University is inviting applications for a graduate assistantship(Ph.D.). The incoming graduate student will use an Integrated Assessment Model (IAM)to ascertain the impact of climate-smart and nature-positive agriculture and forestry practices in the United States on national and global levels. The incoming student is expected to graduate within five years from the start date (summer/fall of 2025, flexible).
This position will pay $30,000/ year for five years. Suitable annual raises will be included following the state and university policies. The incoming student will be eligible for other benefits per the policies of Clemson University. Tuition is waived for the incoming student.Opportunities for career development are also available across the university
Requirements
- Advanced undergraduate or graduate students interested in making a successful career in modeling the impacts of policies that operate at the interface of economy, society, and environment at national, regional, or global levels are encouraged to apply
- A prior working knowledge of an IAM is preferred but not required.
- Previous working experience with other large-scale modelsin any related discipline(e.g., engineering )is preferred.
