5 Websites To Learn and solve Mathematical Problems At An Instance

maths website

To some, Mathematics can be an intimidating subject. The idea of dealing with the logic of shape, quantity, and arrangement using numbers and symbols seems quite frightening. That is why many students try to escape by enrolling in programs or courses during their undergraduate studies that do not involve any mathematical calculations.

Let us demystify this “seemingly dreadful” subject for you because it is essential that you do not run away from courses or programs that would be essential in taking the next step in your academics or profession to achieve your dreams. So, Math is not hard. You can learn it and become an expert by devoting time to practice. You are not “missing the math gene”. It would be best to dedicate more time to studying the fundamentals and practicing those concepts using your pen and paper.

However, some individuals often face problems when solving mathematical problems. This could be starting a question and getting stuck halfway, making several errors without a clue on where the first mistake occurred, or simply not understanding the basic principles on how to solve the problems.

Based on the grade an individual is in, he or she can make use of calculators. The basic calculator can help you do simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. But a more advanced instrument is the scientific calculator. It provides plenty of highly advanced calculations, statistics, analysis, scientific data plotting, and much more. However, most of these calculations are simple computations that an average student is expected to know at a certain level. Also, an individual is unable to see the step-by-step calculation in attaining the final answer. A vital way to attaining skill in solving mathematical problems is doing extra practice questions that help you grasp the concept more readily.

Also, this sharpens your mathematical skills and cognitive learning. These additional questions are, sometimes, at the end of each chapter in your textbooks, or maybe you developed these questions with your study buddy or group. However, there might be some level of uncertainty on whether you arrived at the right answer, went through the right steps, or used the right formula.

Therefore, there are several websites that do not only teach you how to solve advanced problems in mathematics, statistics, or even chemistry but also provide a step-to-step calculation. These websites are listed in no specific order.

  1. Matrixcalc

This website provides an essential tool for learning more about matrix calculation. With the help of the calculator on Matrixcalc, you can find a matrix determinant, inverse, rank, transpose, raise the matrix to a power, and solve the multiplication, addition, and subtraction of matrices. Using characteristics polynomial, it can obtain the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of a matrix. It also provides tools to solve systems of linear equations.

An interesting thing about this website is that it solves different problems using different methods. For example, suppose you only know how to obtain a matrix’s determinants using the Triangle’s rule. In that case, you can learn how to solve the same problem using other methods such as the Rule of Sarrus, Montante’s method, and Gaussian elimination. The calculator is easy to use. The site also provides links to explain the techniques and rules used in computing many solutions.

2. Mathway

Mathway.com is an automated tutor that provides individuals with the tools they need to solve problems from chemistry and all areas of mathematics, including algebra, calculus, trigonometry, and statistics. You can get an instant step-by-step solution by either typing the problem or snapping the photo. The answers are simplified for different grade levels, such as high school or college, and can be printed. After giving detailed solutions to some questions, the only challenge is that it reveals only the answers to more questions and would require a monthly or yearly subscription to show additional step-by-step solutions.

3. Microsoft Math Solver

Microsoft Math Solver is an excellent tool for learning math at both beginner and advanced levels.Besides solving problems with detailed explanations and interactive graphs, it also provides similar problems from the web and gives online video lectures. In addition, there is an immersive reader that can read out the solutions, and help can be gotten in several languages.

Also, the Microsoft Math Solver application can be downloaded on the App Store or Google Play. It is free with no advertisements. The cool thing is that if you cannot figure out how to type in the correct equations for your question, snap a picture or draw the equation and it is solved. We recommend this if you want to be a math expert!

4. Rechneronline

This is a German website, but the page can be translated to English or your preferred language with Google Translate. Rechneronline does a lot of other exciting things apart from mathematical calculations. It has calculators for different areas such as Budget, Time and Date, Health and Body, History, Geography, Arts, Technology and Informatics, Cars and Traffic, Physics and Chemistry, and Economy. If you are trying to calculate the exact time that has gone since a particular date, convert Intelligence Quotient (IQ) scales, or calculate the earth’s radius and diameter by latitude, this is just the place for you!

5. Symbolab

Symbolab is one of the best online services that computes step-by-step solutions to mathematical problems in various subjects. Also, it helps its users build their math skills by practicing questions, creating a custom quiz, and providing helpful hints on any math topic such as Calculus, Trigonometry, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Finance, and many more. Even though its free access is quite helpful, it is still limited. If you want to have unlimited access to personalized practice problems, quizzes, and full access to solution steps, you will have to sign up and get a paid subscription. We do not advise you to use this to copy and paste solutions for any take-home assignments. This does not help you improve your math skills but only makes you dependent on obtaining solutions without understanding. Use these websites as an additional learning tool to learn, grow, and become a better mathematician.

As a student, have you ever wondered, “What did I do wrong?. I got the right answer but did not obtain the full marks for this maths question.” These websites will help you to understand better the several steps your instructors would like to see when marking their assignments, quizzes, or examinations on a particular mathematical topic.

We hope this is helpful.

We would like to hear from you. Which website are you most likely going to use to sharpen your math skill? Are there other tools or websites you use?
