Scotland Rural College is inviting applications for a social scientist with a ‘flair’ for Ecological Economics to support the Sustainable Ecosystems team within SRUC’s Department for Rural Economy, Environment & Society. The Sustainable Ecosystems team conducts applied research on the socio-economic impacts of agricultural systems and environmental change. The start date is 1st August 2023.
In collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, the MSc Programme in Ecological Economics is coordinated and delivered. This is the longest running programme of its kind in the world.
Eligibility
- Teaching: The successful candidate must be knowledgeable about, and be willing to engage with, Ecological Economics as a discipline.
- Research: candidates who can make significant social science contributions to the work of the Sustainable Ecosystems team.
- Previous working experience in governmental, non-governmental organisations, and industry is appealing.
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged as they help us offer the best experience to our diverse range of international graduate and postgraduate students.
