Apply as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the University of Georgia

The Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, University of Georgia is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PRA) who will pursue research to characterize the relationship between the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) and participating farmers/producers in the Southern United States. Signed by President Reagan in 1985, CRP is one of the largest private-lands conservation programs in the United States. Additionally, the incoming PRA will facilitate the development of a web-based education and outreach tool. The incoming PRA is expected to complete research within one year from the start date (around September 2023). However, an extension is possible depending on the overall performance and the availability of funds. This position will pay $64,000/year, along with health and retirement benefits. A relocation allowance of $1,500 is offered as well, if applicable.

Eligibility

  • Candidates with relevant educational backgrounds (Ph.D. required) are encouraged to apply.
  • International candidates are encouraged as well.
  • Experience in designing surveys and conducting in-person/online interviews is needed.
  • Skills in quantitative/qualitative data analysis are preferred.
  • A working knowledge of spatial data management is preferred
  • A record of publishing in refereed journals is encouraged but not required.
