The Department of Economics, University of Southern California is inviting applications for a Pre-Doctoral Fellow based at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. The full-time position will begin July 1, 2023, and last for at least one year, ideally two. The position will entail close collaboration with all stages of the research process on projects in applied microeconomics, including estimating the welfare impacts of optimal regulation and environmental and climate change policies, and implementing and analyzing field experiments. The position and project will be jointly managed by Professors Robert Metcalfe (USC) and Nathan Hendren (MIT), and the Fellow will be part of the Policy Impacts community.
Eligibility
- Have completed an undergraduate degree in Economics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
- Have a strong interest in applied microeconomics
- Have a strong quantitative background, with strong programming skills with experience in statistical software such as R or Stata, and Github
- Be able to work independently and in teams to solve problems, with strong communication skills
- Be planning to pursue a PhD in Economics or a related field.
