London School of Economics is inviting applications for a Research Assistant to contribute to the project focused on home productivity and children’s time use. This is a part-time position to begin with, but can convert to a full-time position based on performance and results. As a Research Assistant, the selected can will play an importantrole incleaning and analyzing multiple time use surveys, conducting literature reviews, and designing pilotsurveys.
The Research Assistant will work closely with Gabriela Deschamps and Ameek Singh, fifth-year PhD candidates in the Department of Economics, offering a unique opportunity to engage with experienced researchers in a collaborative setting. This position is excellent for someone planning to apply to build a career in economics and policy research, especially if you are planning to go on for a PhD degree in economics, public policy, or other social science disciplines. Note that remuneration is competitive for the position and will depend on candidate’s experience and skill.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Clean and analyze time use surveys to extract relevant data
- Conduct thorough literature reviews
- Design and implement pilot surveys to gather preliminary data
- Manage and organize research data using advanced data management techniques
- Prepare and present data in a clear and concise manner
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics or a related discipline
- Excellent proficiency in STATA or R for data analysi
- Strong knowledge of data management and presentation techniques.
Requirements
- Prior experience in research or academic projects is a plus
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data handling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
