The Department of Economics, University of Bonn is inviting applications for a full-time pre-doctoral Research Assistant with a Master’s degree in Economics or another relevant subject area to work on a number of studies related to gender inequality and socioeconomic inequality. The research assistant will be a member of a research team with responsibility for the provision of research support for different research projects in these research areas. He/She will be involved in all stages of research.
The position, which can be held for one or two years, will be based in Bonn, Germany, where the research assistant will have the opportunity to engage with the large international community of researchers at the Department of Economics at the University of Bonn. Successful applicants are expected to start no later than October 2024.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Designing surveys
- Coordinating large data collections
- Analysis of data in STATA
- Performing literature reviews, and writing.
Eligibility
- Candidates who hold a Master’s degree and are interested in gaining skills with the goal of pursuing a PhD in Economics
- Previous research assistants have been successful in securing placements in prestigious PhD in Economics programs
- Experience in handling data and a solid experience in the use of STATA are essential.
