The department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research in Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, headed by Prof. Dietmar Harhoff, is inviting applications for outstanding and motivated Post-doctoral researchers to apply in Economics or Management. The term of appointment is three years, but can be extended to six years. The Institute provides access to an outstanding research infrastructure, including large-scale databases and its own experimental laboratory. The working language is English.
Researchers at the Institute are expected to independently carry out basic research in the fields of
- Innovation (e.g., in the context of intellectual property rights, industrial organization, trade, labor and health markets, digitization, economics of science as well as innovation and technology management)
- Entrepreneurship (e.g., entrepreneurial finance, entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial teams)
- Behavioral Foundations (e.g., incentives for creativity, innovation motives and behavior, inventor characteristics and personality)
The term of appointment is three years, but can be extended to six years. The position does not include teaching obligations. The gross salary is based on the Labor Agreement for Public Service (TVöD) and ranges initially, depending on prior work experience, between 56,229 EUR and 65,046 EUR annually.
Eligibility
- Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. in economics or business administration, or be close to finishing their Ph.D., and have a strong background either in applied econometrics or in experimental economics.
