Application Deadline: January 31, 2024
MetroSight is inviting applications for a bench of researchers to take on future projects alongside their academic routine. Applicants are welcome at any career stage, from graduate students to tenured professors. Compensation shall be set on a project-by-project basis. Most projects will require coding, typically in Stata, R and/or Python.
Examples of projects include housing and land use policy analysis, the prediction of residential development patterns, data-driven writing for a lay audience, the creation of economic indices from novel data sources, validation and demonstration of novel data products’ value (e.g. information derived from satellite-imagery), and more. Work at MetroSight is remote. Non-local applicants are welcome. References letters are welcome if available, but applicants who are interested in this opportunity and are not otherwise on the job market do not need to produce references.
MetroSight provides a variety of research and consulting services related to metropolitan growth patterns, housing and land use policy, and real estate. Founded in November 2019 by a former Trulia Chief Economist and UC Berkeley lecturer in econometrics, MetroSight performs rigorous data-driven analysis to provide clear and digestible insight. The firm’s clientele includes a mix of public and private entities, large and small, with a variety of needs and use-cases.
