The University of Warsaw is inviting applications for a position of an Assistant Professor (full-time, fixed-term, 100% research-based) within the Volkswagen Foundation grant. The impact of COVID-19 on public support for the European Union (COVIDEU)“ led by Prof. Heike Klüver (Humboldt University Berlin) and co-led by Prof. Sara Hobolt (London School of Economics), Prof. Michał Krawczyk (University of Warsaw), Prof. Theresa Kuhn (University of Amsterdam) and Dr. Toni Rodon (Pompeu Fabra University).
Eligibility
- A PhD in social sciences, computer science, or related fields (or be near completion)
- have a track record of publications in peer-reviewed international journals
- be experienced in conducting quantitative research
- have a very good command of techniques of data science/AI/machine learning, including natural language processing (NLP)
- be experienced with python or other software or programming language suitable for web scraping and NLP
- show good communication skills
Requirements
- Knowledge of the literature on fake news and their importance in political discourse
- Experience in running behavioural experiments
- Good command of Polish
