The Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ARE) at the University of California, Berkeley is inviting applications from qualified individuals to two positions, one open rank (OR; assistant, associate or full professor), the other a tenure-track Assistant Professor (NT). The anticipated start date is 1st July, 2022.
Selected candidates should be outstanding scholars with an active research program in one of these two areas of interest:
- Agricultural economics (or resources pertinent to agriculture) in developed countries
- The development and application of new analytical tools to empirical questions relevant to the economics of agriculture and natural resources, including tools from data science or econometrics.
Successful candidates will be expected to inspire the Ph.D. students to pursue research in topics involving new analytical tools or applications in agriculture and natural resources. Candidates with an active research program in agriculture (and resource) economics will be expected to teach courses related to agricultural economics and policy at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Assistant Professor
Application at this level is for Current or recent Ph.D. candidate or graduate; current or recent postdoctoral degree holder; current assistant professor (including those who are senior assistant professors near tenure).
