J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics, University of Galway is inviting applications for a permanent lectureship post, which will be located within the Discipline of Economics. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, supervision, and examining at all levels, engage in scholarship and research, and contribute to the administration of the Discipline, the School and the College. The successful candidate will play a key role, working with colleagues from across the University, and national and international collaborators, to develop existing and new priority research areas, which align with the new values-led University strategy for the period 2020-2025, Shared Vision, Shaped by Values. In doing so, the successful candidate will embed the themes of respect, excellence, openness and sustainability into their teaching and research practices.

Roles/Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will contribute to relevant teaching and examining at all levels, including the B.A., B.Comm. and B.Sc. degrees at the undergraduate level and the various Master’s programmes at the postgraduate level
  • Engage in scholarship and research
  • Assist with administration and the development of the Economics Discipline and J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics.

Eligibility

  • Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Economics
  • Demonstrated ability in teaching and capacity for supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Have a research profile in an area relevant to the research interests of the Discipline
