The Yale School of the Environment is inviting applications for an open-rank, tenure-track or tenured Environmental & Resource Economist, eager to join a vibrant interdisciplinary school of the environment.

The successful candidate will conduct research that advances the field of environmental economics in both disciplinary and interdisciplinary ways. Ideal candidates are scholars with interests in environmental economic policy questions related to forests, land use, biodiversity, conservation, the land use-water nexus, climate change and nature-based solutions, outdoor recreation, or the connection between natural resources and sustainable development. Applicants should demonstrate potential to publish in top disciplinary and interdisciplinary journals while collaborating with other social and natural scientists as well as economists.

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Teach and mentor students at the PhD, masters and potentially undergraduate levels
  • Develop an internationally recognized research program that involves graduate students
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary research
  • Contribute to building an inclusive academic environment.

Eligibility

  • Applicants are expected to have a PhD in economics, applied economics, agricultural economics, or an interdisciplinary PhD with evidence of strong PhD-level economics training or similar.
