The Department of Finance at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics is inviting applications for a Ph.D. candidate to join the interdisciplinary research project “Memory, Beliefs and Choices under Uncertainty“. The four-year Ph.D. position is funded by the NWO (the Dutch National Science Foundation) VIDI grant. The project involves constructing theories, designing and conducting lab experiments, and the potential opportunity to conduct field experiments. The research will be mainly conducted in the context of financial decision-making but will have implications for broader economic decisions.
Eligibility
- Applicants should have a Research Master’s degree in Economics or Finance, or the equivalent, and to demonstrate a strong interest in the above topics.
- A successful candidate is expected to have good knowledge in behavioral economics theories, especially in non-Bayesian belief updating, and decisions under uncertainty.
- The candidate should also have the ability to design and conduct experiments in the lab and field.
- Knowledge about behavioral finance theories and prior experiences related to experimental finance research is not necessary but preferable.
- The candidate will conduct research as part of the Finance Department and will have some teaching responsibilities.
