Apply for a post doctoral position in Behavioral Environmental Economics

Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich is inviting applications for a postdoctoral candidate who will be expected to work on studies within an existing project on “Sustainable Consumer Behavior” led by Prof. Renate Schubert at ETH Zurich which is part of the Swiss National Research Program on “sustainable economy” running until August 2022. At the same time, the position allows to continue or develop the candidate’s own research agenda, preferably in the field of behavioral, environmental, and/or organizational economics within the new team of Prof. Manuel Grieder at UniDistance Suisse. The position does not involve any mandatory teaching duties, but, if desired, the candidate could be integrated in teaching activities at UniDistance Suisse. Applications from international candidates are welcome. In case of employment, however, the official residence must be changed to Switzerland due to social security regulations. Applications by women are particularly encouraged.

Eligibility

  • The ideal candidate has completed (or is very close to completion of) a PhD in Economics or in a closely related field (e.g., management or psychology)
  • The candidate must have a strong interest and relevant experience in experimental and/or other empirical research in environmental, behavioral, or organizational economics
  • The successful candidate should be able to design and conduct original research of highest methodological standards, to produce high quality research papers and technical reports
  • She/he must be able to clearly communicate scientific results to a broad range of audiences
  • Applicants should have a keen interest in applied environmental issues and true openness to interdisciplinary perspectives
  • She/he must possess strong methodological knowledge in the areas of behavioral economics and experimental research
  • Knowledge of the Swiss research context and German language skills are an asset but not a requirement
