The Risk Management and Decision Processes Center at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking applicants for a one- to two-year postdoctoral research position focused on managing the physical impact risks of climate change. The Center seeks applicants with social science expertise in one or more of the following areas: market impacts of climate change, disaster risk transfer markets, disaster or climate finance, climate justice, climate stress testing, risk analysis, and/or resilience policy. The Center’s work is currently centered around five thematic areas: (1) disaster risk management, (2) business, climate, and the environment, (3) risk communication & decision-making, (4) behavioral science & technology; and (5) political risk. The post-doctoral fellow will be expected to contribute to several ongoing projects on these topics, assisting with data collection and analysis, writing, policy analysis, and other related project activities. The program starts in Summer or Fall 2021 in Philadelphia, PA – USA. The program’s length is between 1 to 2 years, based on performance evaluation in the first year and continuation of funding.
