The Morrison School of Agribusiness in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University is inviting applications for a one-year (12-month), full-time postdoctoral scholar position starting Summer/Fall 2023, with the possibility of a one-year renewal contingent upon funding and needs of the unit. This position is available under the supervision of the Director of the Morrison School of Agribusiness.

The postdoctoral scholar will teach courses in food and agribusiness as well as business administration courses serviced by the Morrison School. The postdoctoral scholar will also conduct independent research consistent with their own research interests in the broad area of food and agribusiness, collaborate with faculty of the Morrison School of Agribusiness, engage in funded research efforts, and support the overall research mission of the unit.

Roles/Responsibilities

• The candidate must contribute to the Morrison School of Agribusiness’ mission in research and teaching.
• The candidate will teach two courses per year as assigned by the Director, and be able and willing to deliver excellent instruction at the undergraduate level.
• The candidate must be willing to teach in either in-person, online, or hybrid environments.
• The candidate must also engage in both independent and collaborative research efforts supporting the Morrison School of Agribusiness.

Eligibility

• A Ph.D. from an accredited institution in business administration, agricultural economics, agribusiness, economics, or a closely related field.
• Candidates must have degree completed and in hand by the start date.

Requirements

• Potential for excellence in research and teaching in an area of applied economics or business related to the examination of the food and agribusiness industry such as (but not limited to) food marketing, operations management, risk management, agribusiness finance, food supply chains, policy analysis, data analytics and econometrics, or other related area.
• Teaching experience in either in-person or online environments.
• Skills in implementing research, strong econometric and modeling skills
• The ability to produce verbal and written communication appropriate for a range of audiences, including scholarly reports and publications.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills that foster teamwork and collaboration
• The ability to work effectively individually and as part of a large interdisciplinary team
• The ability to coordinate multiple academic projects.
