The National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (INRAE) is inviting applications for a post-doc who will coordinate research activities with the project’s lead economist, Adeline Alonso Ugaglia. The post-doc will be responsible for an analysis of the economic consequences of Esca and the potential net benefits from strategies to minimize the incidence of Esca based on a bioeconomic simulation of winegrape production in Cognac France. In addition, econometric estimation of price elasticities for wine and bandy from the Cognac region will be conducted along with an equilibrium displacement model analysis. The start date is January 1, 2025.
The aim of the unit’s research is to achieve vine disease and pest management based on biological regulation, plant management, varietal selection and biocontrol, as part of the agroecological transition. The forty or so permanent members of the team combine skills in ecology, pathology, entomology and economics. The unit is part of the Institute of Vine and Wine Sciences (ISVV) (same location), which is a multi-disciplinary, international research, higher education and development cluster that brings together all the research, training and transfer teams in the wine sector.
