The Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) of the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam is inviting applications for an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track). Supported by external funding, the selected candidate will be encouraged to develop a research programme , including the opportunity to set up a research group. The work involves teaching courses in environmental economics for various BSc and MSc programmes, conducting research, and some administrative duties in support of the teaching and research base.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Develop a largely externally funded research programme in desired research field
- Build up a successful group around desired field of expertise
- Teach and conduct research
- Smaller component will be dedicated to administrative tasks to maintain a high quality publication output
- Raise research funding for collaborative projects
Eligibility
- A PhD in Environmental Economics or related subjects
- Research interest and academic track record in climate change economics
- Academic teaching in Environmental Economics courses
- Excellent quantitative methodological skills
- Academic leadership and value teamwork
