IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca is inviting applications for two tenure-track associate professor positions in economics and economic policy.
Associate Professor in Economics
The selected candidate is expected to work in explaining economic phenomena at the microeconomic level using inductive and deductive methods, static and dynamic analysis, with the aim of providing analytical and empirical foundation for applied investigations and for interventions in the field of economic policy and public economy.

Associate Professor in Economic Policy
The selected candidate will will join the interdisciplinary research landscape of the IMT School and will contribute to its further development. The candidate will contribute to the consolidation of these themes, also in interaction with multiple research areas of the School, through an excellent publication output, an intense multidisciplinary scientific collaboration with researchers both inside and outside IMT, participation in and coordination of national and international research projects, supervision of PhD students and teaching at the doctoral level on themes related to sustainability.
Eligibility
- Excellent researcher who studies the objectives, tools and methods of intervention in the economy, also at the sectoral level, of the State and other independent Authorities, both national and supranational, the comparison of economic policies, the programming of macro and microeconomic aggregates, international policies and their coordination, the functions and role of economic institutions.
Requirements
- Quality of research activity, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and references;
- Research organization experience
- Participation in international/national research projects and research periods in public and private institutions (academic and non-academic)
- Relevance of the candidate’s profile for the development of IMT’s research activities
- Teaching, mentoring and supervision experience
- Motivation
- Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken
