Call for Application: 2025 Demographic and Health Surveys Fellows Program

Education (82)

Application Deadline: November 5, 2024

The 2025 Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) Fellows Program is now open for applications. Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), this program is designed to enhance the research and teaching capacity of university faculty in selected countries by enabling them to analyze DHS Program data. The Fellows Program also aims to increase their ability to transfer this knowledge to their students and colleagues. The program consists of hybrid learning, including virtual sessions and two in-person workshops. All selected fellows are required to complete an online DHS Dataset User Course prior to the first workshop.

Research proposals must be based on DHS Program data and should address topics like sexual and reproductive health, family planning, maternal and child health, early childhood development, child discipline, child labor, gender, or related health issues. Special encouragement is given to teams from countries like Angola, Burkina Faso, and Cameroon to focus on child discipline and early childhood development. Selected fellows will receive a $3,000 honorarium to cover research and travel expenses. The DHS Program will also cover travel and accommodation for the in-person workshops.
