The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the global body for Intellectual Property (IP) services, policy, information and cooperation is inviting applications for an innovation data analyst who wishes to contribute to its mission of making IP work for everyone. As a data scientist responsible for innovation data and policy, the selected candidate is responsible for organizing, designing and carrying out the collection and analysis of dat underlying the GII, developing novel innovation and innovation policy indicators and contributing to the GII’s use in member states in view of improving national innovation ecosystems and policies. The full-time role is located in Geneva, Switzerland. The salary is $136,716 USD, which includes cost of living allowance.
Eligibility
- First-level university degree in Economics, Data science, statistics, computer science or related fields with developed quantity and analytical skills
- Advanced university degree or PhD Economics, Data science, statistics, computer science or related fields with developed quantity and analytical skills (Desirable)
- At least, six years of relevant professional and international experience in at least two of the following: (i) the development and analysis of statistical projects/reports (ii) the field of innovation research (iii) providing advice on measurement and policy
- Experience with relational database management systems (My SQL, MariaDB)
- Experience with cloud computing such as Amazon web services, Azure, Google Cloud Platform
Requirements
- Strong and demonstrated IT and statistical skills, including advanced knowledge of statistical knowledge, in particular R programming language, STATA, and MS Excel
- Ability to use code hosting platforms such as GitHub
