The Donald. M. Payne International Development Fellowship Programme, administered by Howard University, is inviting applications for individuals who are interested in developing careers in the Foreign Service of USAID, with a particular emphasis on recruiting members with underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, historically marginalized populations, and those from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds in the United States. The fellowship provides an award of up to $52 000 annually for a two-year graduate program which includes up to $24,000 per year towards tuition and a stipend of $18,000. It also includes professional development activities and two internships – one of them is working on international issues in Washington DC, such as placement on Capitol Hill, and a second is an overseas internship at a USAID mission. Successful completion of the program will provide fellows with a unique pathway to the USAID Foreign Service.
