The University of Cyprus is inviting applications for fully funded PhD and Postdoctoral positions. The newly established ERA Chair in Science and Innovation Policy and Studies (SInnoPSis) at the University of Cyprus is forming a new Research Unit, with the aim to gradually develop into a Centre of Excellence. The main objective of the new unit would be to improve synergies among different academic departments and practitioners interested in research and innovation (at the University of Cyprus and beyond). SInnoPSis will offer very generous stipends, as well as generous travel and research support.
Fully-funded PhD Positions
Eligibility
- Highly motivated graduates with a strong background in Economics (preferably a strong Master’s degree in economics)
- Candidates focusing on microeconomic theory and experimental economics
- Interest in the field of science and innovation is a plus

Postdoctoral Fellowship
As an integral part of the SInnoPSis Unit, we are forming a team of young postdoctoral fellows in residence, who are interested in the workings and processes of science. The positions are expected to start in September 2022 for a 2-year appointment with the possibility of a 1-year extension. Our postdoctoral fellows will receive a competitive stipend for European standards as well as generous travel support and research funding. They will also receive mentoring by established researchers and be supported to perform research visits to elite institutions.
Eligibility
- Promising young researchers from the fields of: behavioural science; experimental economics; economic theory; data analysis, machine learning and AI; meta-analysis; industrial organization; innovation studies are encouraged to apply.
- Fellows should have obtained their PhD at the time of commencement.
