Things You Need To Know About Blowing Up Your Productivity through Planners

blow productivity through planners

Planning your day is one of the most important things you can do every day to make complex tasks more manageable. It increases your productivity and makes you more fulfilled. It allows you to prioritize, execute, and analyze.

A productivity planner is a structured daily planner that helps in overcoming procrastination and getting more things done. By taking just 5 to 10 minutes each morning (night) to strategically plan your day, you will get significantly increased output from your time. If you are interested in keeping track of tasks and getting things done in your business, and crossing those applications off your list, you need to have a planner! By learning how to use a daily planner, you can get on top of your day with less stress.

Ever noticed how easy it is to make a to-do list, but how much harder it is to follow it? Do you know what the game-changer is? You will find out in the course of this write-up. The game-changer to getting things done is PRIORITIZATION. Stop procrastinating and start prioritizing. It is that simple.

Now, why should you use a planner?

  1. A planner helps you estimate how much you can get done and how long each task will take. What if you check everything off your list today?
  2. With a planner, you can track down the list of the most critical tasks, the ones you deserve a treat from your boss types in terms of efforts.
  3. A planner lets you know how you have managed the tasks and any strategies you used for effective handling

Ways to effectively use a planner:

  1. Use a planner that has room for your schedule each day: Here, your plan for the day gets excellent. You list out specific tasks that you want to accomplish. You can plan your meetings, project deadline, and of course, hang out with friends. Crossing things off your list feels so good, I must tell you.
  2. Use a planner to create monthly schedules: Here, you can write down things that do not change, like birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, special events, and recurring meetings. It is more likely that you complete your tasks if you know exactly what you are getting into. It also helps you figure out how much time you need to complete each activity.
  3. Write everything down: Stop leaving details and activities all in your head. There is a huge probability that you might forget it. Also, be specific with your steps. Instead of writing ‘Visit,’ write ‘Visit Lucy.’
  4. Get into this routine and stick with it! A good habit is formed through consistency. Also, try not to deviate from your written-down tasks, except it is an emergency.

However, I would like to propose something. This is personal. It is not compulsory, but it has helped a couple of other people and me. You can use a physical planner. Print out the UEJ e-planner! This might be old-fashioned to some, yet they are super effective for you to stay on top of everything you need to do. Why? Paper or physical planners give you a visual, in-your-hand space for writing notes, creating to-do lists, and noting ideas on the go. However, if you are a person who is consistently on your personal computer or go around with a tablet, you can use a digital planner.  Then, you can write or type in every detail of an upcoming event or task while working.

Regardless of how unplanned and unachievable your days have looked before now, you can change the game today by PRIORITIZING THE USE OF A PLANNER. Having a planner to look back on is a great way to see what you had planned out for your day and what you could complete. Those check marks are exciting to see! Be sure to pat yourself on the back for everything you get done, and oh, make sure you add time to your day to do something you like.

Have you ever used a physical or digital planner? If yes, tell us how it has helped you increase your productivity in the comments section.
