Three Post-doctoral positions at the University of Magdeburg

The Otto von Guericke University, Magdeburg is inviting applications for three post-doctoral positions at the newly founded Chair of Behavioural Social Policy. The positions are initially limited to three years with the possibility of extension. The selected candidates will be offered active participation in the research, teaching, and transfer activities of the chair in behavioral, social policy. For research, there will be access to the excellently equipped Magdeburg Experimental Laboratory of Economic Research. In addition to excellent scientific infrastructure, the state capital, Magdeburg, offers a high quality of life with its location on the Elbe River, its many parks and historical sights, as well as its numerous sports, cultural and leisure activities.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Participation in research projects of the chair and own research activities
  • Presentation of research results at scientific conferences and (participation in) publication of results in leading journals
  • Further scientific qualification in the context of the doctorate or development of an own research profile for a further scientific career
  • Participation in teaching (including independent preparation and implementation of courses, which are held in English) within the scope of 4 academic hours (SWS)
  • Support in administrative tasks of the chair

Requirement

  • A university degree with honors (Diploma/Master’s degree or doctorate) in economics or a related subject
  • Interest in theory-based work and empirical, especially experimental economic research in the field of economic and social policy
  • Proven qualifications in at least two of the following areas: game theory, health economics, experimental economics, microeconometrics
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken
